Safety Disclaimer
Effective date: October 16, 2026
This Safety Disclaimer is provided by Skydrop Apps LLC, 14767 NW Cosmos St, Portland, OR 97229, United States, for the DrinkByMe app and App Clip. It is general information, not legal, medical, nutritional, or professional advice.
1. Drink responsibly
The alcohol-content rule in the App is 21. Do not make or consume alcoholic recipes unless you are 21 or older and may lawfully do so where you are.
- There is no known safe amount of alcohol during pregnancy.
- Do not drink if you take medicine that interacts with alcohol, have a health condition, will drive, or will operate machinery.
- Ask a doctor if you are unsure.
- Know your limits and stop if you feel impaired or unwell.
- Do not pressure anyone to drink. The App does not encourage excessive consumption.
2. Estimates, not medical or nutritional advice
Estimated alcohol by volume, calories, serving size, dietary information, preparation time, and similar values may be incomplete or wrong. Actual values depend on amounts, brands, substitutions, dilution, serving size, and preparation. Do not use the App to make a medical, dietary, or dosing decision.
3. Allergens
The App derives each recipe's Allergen summary from the listed ingredients and their typical formulation. It checks these 14 categories, which follow Annex II of Regulation (EU) No 1169/2011 and include the nine major US allergens listed by the FDA: gluten, crustaceans, eggs, fish, peanuts, soybeans, milk, tree nuts, celery, mustard, sesame, sulphites (sulfites), lupin, and molluscs.
This is a helper, not a guarantee. Brands, formulas, production methods, and cross-contact risks vary. Always read the current product label and contact the manufacturer when needed. If you have a severe allergy, always read the product label. In an emergency, call your local emergency number.
If an ingredient is unknown, the App says it cannot check its allergens. It does not treat an unknown ingredient as safe. For substitutions, the App shows allergens the substitution adds or says when it cannot check them.
4. Raw egg and food safety
Raw egg can carry salmonella. Use pasteurized eggs, especially for older adults and anyone with a weakened immune system.
The App marks known raw-egg ingredients and shows a warning. A missing warning does not prove a product or user-created recipe is safe. Keep ingredients at safe temperatures, use clean tools, and follow current food-safety guidance.
5. Fire and other preparation hazards
- Keep flammable items and the bottle away from flame.
- Never pour spirit onto a flame.
- Use heat-safe glassware for hot liquids.
- Let every flame die completely before drinking.
- Handle high-proof spirits, hot liquids, steam, knives, peelers, ice, muddling tools, and glassware carefully.
- Caffeinated drinks are not suitable for people who are sensitive to caffeine, and caffeine may make alcohol impairment harder to notice.
Skip a flaming step unless you have the right equipment, training, ventilation, and a safe area.
6. Mocktails and trace alcohol
Mocktails are made without spirits, but some ingredients, such as bitters or vanilla extract, can contain traces of alcohol. Fermented ingredients and substitutions can also change alcohol content. Check labels and choose products suitable for you.
7. Imported, scanned, and user-created information
AI recipe import may misread ingredients, quantities, steps, allergens, or alcohol content. It runs on the device, but on-device processing does not guarantee accuracy.
Barcode results come from Open Food Facts and may be incomplete, outdated, or wrong. Check the product label.
User-created recipes, notes, substitutions, and shared recipes are the user's responsibility. Review every ingredient and step before preparation. Recipe Source information and third-party product data do not guarantee accuracy or safety.
8. Limits of the Age Gate
The Age Gate relies on a self-declared Age Bracket and does not verify identity or exact age. Apple's Declared Age Range result is used only as a best-effort check after a user selects 21 or Older during onboarding. A missing Age Bracket is treated as Under 21.
Users aged 18 through 20, and anyone who chooses Under 21, see mocktails only. That filter cannot prove every commercial ingredient contains no alcohol. Users and hosts remain responsible for checking products and following applicable law.
9. Your responsibility
You are responsible for what you make, serve, and drink. Stop if a step, ingredient, tool, flame, or result seems unsafe. In an emergency, call your local emergency number or poison control.
10. Warnings in the App
The full App shows available allergen and raw-egg warnings on the recipe page, tags raw-egg ingredients while you mix, and places a concise flame warning before a known flaming step. The App Clip shows available allergen and raw-egg information. It does not show recipe steps, so it does not show flame warnings.
